Every other channel gets spammed - eg Skype, IM, email, private telephone numbers, .... I do get spam messages from Vodafone - it's free for them to spam their own customers. And I've had a couple of spam messages from somewhere in South Africa. No Idea how they got my number. Cost per text is the only thing stopping the spammers.
