10 Amazing New Zealand things I did over Summer
Having just returned from Summer break with my family, I thought I’d list the top ten wonderful New Zealand experiences we’d had. But I couldn’t whittle it down to ten so there are a few more in the list. What a fantastic country we live in!
-
Blasting around on a Bush Buggy at National Park.
-
Building a fire on a beach over New Year’s night.
-
Listening to the birdsong from Angus and Maureen Scotland’s wonderful B&B in Golden Bay.
-
Buying a few bottles of the amazing Neudorf Chardonnay from the winery.
-
Going to the Big Day Out. It’s like Kirkcaldie’s sale, but warmer. And there’s some great music, too.
-
Nearly doing the Tongariro Crossing (but not starting because of high winds on the day).
-
Eating whitebait at the Little Wanganui Hotel.
-
Seeing and hearing a wild Kaka in virgin native bush.
-
Walking along Wharariki Beach while dodging the surf.
-
Riding the Inter-Island ferry, both ways on good days.
-
Mountain biking the Rameka Track with my son.
-
Buying way too many books in the shops along Auckland’s High and Lorne Streets.
